When face-to-face on-site interpreting is not necessary, or you need an interpreter at short notice, Ethnic can organise an over-the-phone interpreter to meet your needs.

Booking an on-site interpreter is easy

Our comprehensive database and booking system allow us to quickly and accurately assign the most suitable interpreter for your on-site request. Simply choose your situation and make a booking.

Pre-booked over the phone

If you need an interpreter on a certain date, and don’t necessarily need them to be on-site, you can save money and book an over-the-phone service with one of our skilled interpreters.

Ad-hoc over the phone

There are times when you need an interpreter urgently. We can assign an over-the-phone interpreter for you at short notice, without an additional ‘urgent’ fee.

On-site interpreting FAQs

Q. How long will I have to wait for a telephone interpreter to be connected?
A. Approximately 2–5 minutes, and charges begin when you are connected.

Q. How many languages do you provide with telephone interpreting?
A. Over 200 languages are available, the same as for on-site interpreting.

Q. How many lines can be connected at a time?
A. We can connect up to 3 lines (i.e. a 3-way conference call).

Q. Do you take credit cards and corporate purchase orders?
A. Yes. We accept corporate purchase orders, as well as Visa and Master Card.

Q. How about confidentiality?
A. All of our translators and interpreters are contractually bound to maintain strict confidentiality in all projects not a matter of public record. If you have a confidentiality agreement you require, we will, of course, be happy to execute that as well.
